CPA Exam

To be eligible to take the CPA Exam in Virginia, students need to take a minimum of 24 semester hours of accounting courses above an Introductory Accounting course; as well as a minimum of 24 semester hours of business courses. Students who wish to sit for the Virginia CPA Exam must take all eight courses in the Accounting concentration, which amounts to 24 credits. This option will require students to take six more credits than will other business majors. In addition, students who wish to sit for the Virginia CPA Exam must take not only the 24 credits in the Accounting concentration, but also must take 24 credits in Business, not including BUSN 220.
