Director of Regent University School of Nursing and Associate Professor of Nursing
Dr. Rebecca Hope Le received her BSN from Oklahoma University, MSN from Southern Nazerene University and Ph.D. from Oklahoma City University. Her experiences as a nurse, educator, administrator and mission worker have improved the lives of people around the world in places like Mexico, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Korea, Vietnam and Uganda. Le has performed a variety of professional services globally. She has assisted in the opening of medical clinics, participated in community health education programs, and provided childcare trainings in orphanages. Working with orphans sparked her passion for children, which led to her work as a pregnancy crisis counselor and nurse in high-risk labor and delivery units. Le has conducted trainings on newborn care, childbirth education, breastfeeding support, parenting, and natural family planning. She is actively involved in the Pregnancy Resource Center. She’s also deeply passionate about adolescent health, and has taught eating disorder prevention and HIV education.
Provides an introduction to the AACN’s BSN essentials, overview of scholarship and professional nursing with use of APA formatting, and application to professional collaboration and interdisciplinary communications. Prerequisite: Successful completion of ENGL 102 with a grade of C or higher.
Basic knowledge of common physiologic pathologies in pediatric and adult patients and their clinical management. Prerequisites: BIOL 201, BIOL 202, BIOL 210, BIOL 215.
Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of selected drug classes. Current issues in pharmacotherapy: identify vulnerable populations and the principles of pharmacotherapeutics across the lifespan including the effects of race, gender, and ethnicity. Prerequisite: CHEM 101.
Develops skills in acquisition of clinical evidence to determine health risk, treatment modalities, and psychological and physical status. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour. Prerequisites: BIOL 201, BIOL 202, PSYC 102, PSYC 211.
Develops leadership in complex transcultural systems while improving professional nursing practices and the application of novel administrative strategies to solve complex problems in large healthcare systems. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour. Prerequisite courses: tier one nursing courses.
Develops skills in the use of evidence-based practice and the proper formation of appropriate forms for documentation and improvement of research. Prerequisites: ENGL 102, MATH 201 and tier one nursing courses.
Develops global perspective on community-based health promotion and protection with emphasis on improving practices, equity, and affordability. Three credit lecture hours and one clinical credit hour.
Computer technology in the healthcare field in order to improve patient outcomes; familiarity with the various technology media encountered in health care settings. Evaluate the legitimacy of information gathered from the Internet and assess electronic information as it relates to Evidence-Based Practice. Prerequisite courses: tier one nursing courses.
Capstone course for the Nursing major. Includes development of an evidence-based research project that solves a clinical management problem. Prerequisite courses: tier one nursing courses.
Application Process – RN to B.S. in Nursing
Step 1: Application & Application Fee
- Submit your application using the Regent University Online Application. Pay the $50 nonrefundable application fee by check or money order mailed to Regent University, Enrollment Support Services, 1000 Regent University Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
- Fee Waiver: Attend an on-campus or online information session to learn how to streamline your application process, discover financial aid resources and waive your $50 application fee.
- Note: If you are unable to complete our application due to a disability, please contact our Admissions Office and an admissions representative will provide reasonable accommodations to assist you in completing the application.
Step 2: Submit your Unofficial College Transcripts*
- We are able to examine and view your unofficial transcript from a U.S.-based school, which indicates successful completion of a high school diploma or GED and any college credits attempted, in order to review you for an admissions decision. Please submit your unofficial transcript to our Admissions Office by email to apply@regent.edu using the subject line: RN to BS Application Pieces.
- Non-U.S. transcripts must be evaluated by an NACES-approved company. For further details, please review the International Admissions Checklist on the International Students Admissions page.

- *Upon conditional acceptance to the program by review of unofficial transcripts, Regent University’s Admissions Office will attempt to obtain your official transcripts from your U.S. degree-granting institution, which indicate successful completion of a diploma in nursing or an associate degree in nursing. Your official transcripts from prior coursework should document a GPA of 2.0 or higher. We will notify you if your previous institution will not release transcripts directly to us.
- Report no more than two previous documented failures in an RN to BSN or RN to B.S. in Nursing courses.
Step 3: Complete Your Admissions Questionnaire
- Please complete a brief admissions questionnaire based on your professional goals and interests. This should only take a few minutes to complete but please answer the questions completely and thoughtfully. This gives us a better opportunity to get to know you and align your objectives with our programs. Once completed, it will be sent directly to an admissions counselor who will be in touch with you right away to help complete the rest of your application.
Step 4: Submit Your Nursing License
- In order to be admitted to the RN to BS in Nursing program, you must submit an active unencumbered/unrestricted Registered Nurse license from your state of practice.
Step 5: Submit a Government-Issued ID
- To ensure academic integrity, Regent University requires a copy of a government-issued ID. Please email a scanned copy or photograph of it to apply@regent.edu with the subject line: Government ID.

Practice Requirements
In accordance with national, professional nursing education standards, this program requires you to participate in practice immersion experiences through an arranged preceptor contract and includes 45 practice immersion hours in the following courses:
